Samuel was very proud of his home. He loved to spend time with his family and especially his grandchildren.      He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Surviving is his wife, Chris  Lundberg McQueen; 1 daughter,  Jody (Eric Nelson) Borland Font of Sugar Grove; 2 sons, Samuel (Teena) Borland of Warren and Jacob (Kate) Borland of Sugar Grove; one step-son, Mark  McQueen of North Carolina; 2 sisters, Vivian (Paul) Sanford of Youngsville and Lottie (Joe) Wood of Illinois; 3 brothers,  Isaac (Sue) Borland of Warren, John (Becky) Borland of North Carolina, and Richard (Sandy) Borland of Tidioute; 8 grandchildren, Kate, Cheyanna, Sammy, Logan, Kaden, Brock, Lainey and Ava; 2 step-grandchildren, Nathan and Alex; his black lab, Jackson  and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.   Underneath his tough skin, was an old softie, who loved his family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by  a step-son, Brian McQueen and his wife, Sara; and infant sister, Valerie Borland.    Friends are invited to call  Monday from 5 - 7 pm at  the Sugar Grove Branch of McKinney Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc. where a memorial service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, February 19, 2019.  Expressions of sympathy may be sent at www.mckinneyfuneral.com

It is with great regret I learned of the passing of Sam. I worked with Sam at the Forge, and he was always a gentleman, and loved his family and was so proud of you all. Sam took great pride in sharing his home and all the improvements and additions that were made by you guys doing hands on. All the side lines such as Bees,honey,ect.. The memory of Sam will remain in the minds and hearts of those of us that knew him. God Bless.

Hello family,
Words cannot express my thoughts of sympathy for the loss of a brother so close to each of you. Your Mom, Dad, and now a sibling almost your own ages .... without warning has passed. Life is so precious and each of you know that, as you continue to live life to the fullest each day. May the fun memories of growing up together on Logan Rd always be with you.
