Carol H. Black

Carol H. Black, 84, of Starbrick, PA and Venice, FL, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA.

Carol was born on July 3, 1939, in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Waldo and Beatrice Edgett Hamblin.

Carol graduated from Warren Area High School. She had worked at Bell Telephone Company and Warren National Bank.  Carol’s family was her pride and joy and she loved spending time with them.

Carol attended First Lutheran Church in Warren. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending a lot of time working in her flower beds. Carol enjoyed going to the beach, traveling, bowling and golfing. She loved music, especially karaoke.

In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth G. Black (November 25, 2003), her sister: Beverly Jones and her granddaughter: Casey Reist.

Carol is survived by four children: Julie J. Black of Edinboro, PA, Joan B. (Bob) Reist of Lander, PA, Beth M. Black (Dan Nystrom) of Russell, PA and John H. Black (Bonnie Gorton) of Starbrick, PA; her brother: Jack (Jane) Hamblin; seven grandchildren: Jason Watkins, Kyle (Kim) Turner, Crystal (Kyle) Przybelinski, Kevin (Sarah) Black, Alicia Black, Mackenzie Black and Peyton Reist; four great-grandchildren: Collin Przybelinski, Kendall Przybelinski, Addison and Harrison Black.

Friends and family may call at McKinney Funeral Home, Inc., 54 W. Main Street, Youngsville, PA on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. A funeral service will be held there at 1p.m. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Starbrick, PA.
