Violet Louise Pangborn

Violet Louise Pangborn, 84, a resident of Orchard Grove Assisted Living, Southwestern Drive, Jamestown, NY and formerly of Prendergast Avenue, Jamestown, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023.  Born March 13, 1938 in Sugar Grove, she was the daughter of Rex and Pansy Hamilton Jones.  Violet was a member of the Fluvanna Community Church where she was known as the “Slip Cover Lady”.  She was a talented seamstress who really enjoyed tatting.  She loved Christmas and decorating trees (one had all tatted ornaments!); and, she loved her tatted teacup and saucer collection.  Violet was a homemaker, had worked various places throughout her life and was a self employed seamstress.

Surviving are 3 sons, Lance (Virginia) Pangborn of Russell, PA, Kevin Pangborn and Todd (Lori) Pangborn both of Jamestown; 1 sister, Linda (Don) Millspaw of Conewango Valley, NY; 9 grandchildren, Joshua, Adam, Caleb, Jordan, Jacob, Jason, Travis, Jessica, and Nicole; 9 great grandchildren, Elijah, Caden, Abigal, Jaden, Gavin, Ella, Leo, Mia and Hezekiah, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 infant daughters; 5 sisters, Ada Mitchell, Doris Shaffer, Betty Steinhoff, Judy McGrath, and Elsie Mitchell; and 1 brother, Donald Jones.

Family and friends will be received at the Sugar Grove Branch of McKinney Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc., 117 Main St, Sugar Grove, PA on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 12 – 1 pm followed by a funeral service at 1 pm.  Burial will follow in the Wesleyan Cemetery in Sugar Grove.  Condolences may be left by visiting www.mckinneyfuneral.com
