Laura G. Freeborough, 92, a resident of the Rouse Home and formerly of Youngsville passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Rouse Home. Born November 25, 1929, in Youngsville, PA., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Bernice Dingfelder Gibson. She graduated in the class of 1950 of Youngsville High School and was employed at Blair Corporation in Warren and Irvine, retiring after 27 years of employment in 1990. Prior to her employment with Blair, she enjoyed waitressing at various Youngsville Restaurants.
Laura was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church in Youngsville. She was a member of the American Legion Post 658 Auxiliary of Youngsville, and a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 109 Auxiliary of Warren. Laura will be remembered for her special piece she crocheted, “The Lord’s Prayer” which won First Prize at the Warren County Fair. She loved to crochet and sew.
Surviving Laura is her daughter, Paula (Donald) Corey and her grandson, Blake Corey, all of Warren. Also surviving are 3 step-sons, Bruce Freeborough and Gary Freeborough both of Warren and Ricky Freeborough of Tidioute; several step grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale E. Freeborough; 1 brother, Paul Gibson, Jr.; 2 sisters, Evelyn Swan and Louise Rensma; and a step-daughter, Marlene Donaldson.
Friends will be received at the EUM Church, 18 Second Street, Youngsville, PA, on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 11 to 1 pm at which time a funeral service will be held there at 1 pm with Rev. Jeffrey Canter officiating. Burial will follow and will be private in the Youngsville Cemetery. Those wishing to place a memorial in Laura’s memory may do so to Hospice of Warren County, Paws Along the River Humane Society or Friends of the Rouse.
