Francis R. "Dick" Byers

Francis R. (Dick) Byers, age 84, of Irvine, PA passed away on Thursday, December 9th, 2021 at Warren General Hospital.  He was born in Greensburg, PA on February 1, 1937, son of the late Richard and Ruth Byers.

Francis was a 1956 graduate of Youngsville High School.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.  Francis served 8 years in the Naval Reserves.  He retired in 1999 from the National Forge Company after 36 years of service.  He loved hunting and fishing, was an avid Steelers fan and lifetime member of the NRA.  Francis loved to vacation with his family in Florida and Brigatine, NJ until he was physically unable to travel.  He was a dog lover and was particularly fond of his beagles throughout the years.

Francis was preceded in death by his loving wife, Delores, of 49 years.  Francis is survived by one son, Francis R. Byers Jr. (Kelly) of Springcreek, PA; one daughter, Mary Chase (Aaron) of Erie, PA; three granddaughters, Alexa Byers, Ruth Chase, and Sara Chase; one brother, Robert Byers, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be observed at McKinney Funeral Home in Youngsville on Wednesday, December 15th from 2-6pm.  A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, December 16th at 11am at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 420 Main Street Youngsville. To send condolences, visit www.mckinneyfuneral.com.
