Geraldine H. Long, lifelong resident of Barton Run Road, Pittsfield, PA. , entered eternity at 12:45pm on February 2 in Lexington, KY where she has lived for the last 6 years. Born on February 6, 1932, Geri was the only daughter of Rev. Charles and Marie Baker who pastored the Pittsfield Wesleyan Methodist Church in the late 1940’s. She married Roderick Long on September 22, 1950 and they enjoyed life together for 62 years until his death in 2013. She worked in different waitressing jobs (the last was the Log Cabin on route 6) and she worked as a representative for Tupperware and Avon for many years. She majored in caring for her husband and two children: Charles R. Long (Luci), Wilmore, KY and Luann Marzka (Rick), Pittsfield, PA. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed craft projects of several types and was an avid explorer with her metal detector. As a couple, they thoroughly enjoyed camping and traveling the US as well as to Canada, Colombia and the UK. Both of them were involved with the Youngsville Volunteer Fire Department and in the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Youngsville, PA. She is survived by her two children; three grandchildren: Roderick Long (Lori) in Nicholasville, KY; Juliana Gaddis (Jim) in Wilmore, KY and Jonathan Long (Corinne) in Budapest, Hungary. Also they have 6 greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Rev. William Baker from Youngsville, PA.
