Margaret  Louise "Peg" Brittain, 86, of 382 Old Pittsfield Road in Youngsville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at  home peacefully in her sleep. She was born on Yankee Bush in Starbrick on May 9, 1929, the daughter of the late Stephen and Gladys (Thomas) Chambers.  Peg retired from Blair in 1991 and was also previously employed by the Warren County School District in the cafeteria in Youngsville and Beaty schools. She was a member of the Irvine Presbyterian Church, the Brokenstraw Fish and Game, the Watson Grange #1068, the Youngsville American Legion Auxilliary, and Friends of the Rouse. Peg will be remember as a Girl Scout Leader for many years with Penn Lakes Council and as a  volunteer at the Rouse Home. Surviving is her husband, James Archie  Brittain whom she married May 16, 1952 on Brown Hill in Youngsville; 3 daughters,  Peggy Ann Teconchuk of Starbrick, Debra (Allen) Henry of Youngsville, and Karen (Ron) L. McClure of Clarksburg, Pa; a son,  Stephen N. Brittain of Anderson, SC; 2 sisters, Katherine Knisley of Lander and  Helen Knisley of Warren; 2 brothers, Richard (Vicky) Chambers of Tennessee and  Donald (Helen) Chambers of Youngsville; a sister-in-law, Marie Chambers of Youngsville; 9 grandchildren, 16  great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by  2 brothers, Paul LaVern and Steven Chambers   Calling hours will be held on Tuesday  from 4 - 7 pm   at McKinney Funeral Homes in Youngsville where a funeral service will be held  at 11 am on Wednesday, January 20th,  with Rev. Timothy Olsen, pastor of the Garland Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be private in  Warren County Memorial Park. The family suggests those wishing to place memorials may do so to the Irvine Presbyterian Church or the Shriners Hospital in Erie, Pa.  Condolences or flowers may be sent by visiting  www.mckinneyfuneral.com

Debbie and family, so shocked and saddened at the news of the loss of your mom. I have lots of memories of her and spending time at her house growing up, for Girl Scouts etc.Glad I got to talk to her a couple times in Nov at the grange auctions. I am saddened to see the news of Peg passing away. I was fortunate to get to know her and appreciated her hard-work for the 4-H program. She was a very caring and thoughtful woman. Archie and the family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sadden to hear of Peg's passing. She was a very sweet and caring person. Every time that I saw her she always greeted me with a smile and laughter. That I will truly miss.
