Oh how many memories come flooding back to me when I heard that Joyce has gone home to God. She was always so kind to us foreign students who are friends with Marie. We came from Ethiopia, Etritrea, Italy, Taiwan and Canada and Marie shared Joyce and Martin with us. We always called her and Martin from Paoli when we had celebrations at my apartment and we had shared the venison and the spagetti squash sent down in Marie's car. What a wonderful world it is because Joyce added a special dimension of love and care to her family. I remember her glowing remarks about her children and her grandchildren. She has left a wonderful legacy of faith, courage and joy. We are fortunate to have known her. She affirmed the friendship Marie and I shared. I could always count on receiving a very special Christmas greeting from PA to NL. She was indeed a "blessed mother".
