Gene Elwood McMillin

Gene Elwood McMillen, 90 of the Masonic Village (PO Box 362) in Elizabethtown, PA, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024 at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA.  Born April 9, 1933, he was the son of the late Leonard A. and Evelyn M. Richards McMillen.  Gene served his country from 1954 - 1956 in the US ARMY.  He married Nancy Lou Tuley  July 20, 1957 who survives him.  Also surviving are 3 sisters, Lois (Douglas) Ritter of Euless, TX, Doris Bush of Bumpass, VA, and Joyce (Kenneth) Sperry of Youngsville, PA.  and several nieces and nephews.  He retired from his employment with Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. (Verizon) in Washington, D.C. on April 30, 1988.  Gene was a member of the Stillwater Lodge #547 of the Free and Accepted Masons in Youngsville, the Coudersport Consistory in Coudersport, PA, The Kena Temple  A.A.O.N.M.S. in Fairfax, VA, the Sell Chapel, Masonic Village of Elizabethtown, PA and the Telephone Pioneers Chapter #15 in Washington, D.C.  

Friends and Family will be received on Thursday, January 18, 2024  from 4 to 7  pm at McKinney Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 54 West Main Street, Youngsville.   Members of Stillwater Lodge #547 of the Free and Accepted Masons will hold the Masonic Ritual at 5 pm on Thursday.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1 pm.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Pittsfield, PA   Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.mckinneyfuneral.com
